CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was originally founded as Christ College in 1969 by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation and received deemed university status from the UGC in 2008. It holds NAAC A++ accreditation and is recognised by the UGC as a University of Excellence. The main campus is on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru, with additional campuses in Pune (Lavasa) and Delhi NCR.
